How to come and go

How to come ?

From Bangkok:

There are 3 options:

1. Fly to Suratthani Airport and take a shared minibus (to be ordered here) or a taxi to Khao Sok

2. Take a night train (to book here) to Suratthani Train Station and grab a bus or a taxi to Khao Sok

3. Take the official VIP night bus direct from Bangkok southern bus station to Khao Sok. But this is not an easy option: none of the agencies of Bangkok will offer you that option (they are offering very cheap travel by night bus but uncomfortable, changing twice in the middle of the night and with recurrent problems of stealing in the baggage hold).

To be able to take that official bus you need to book it directly at the office in the southern bus station of Bangkok (a few days before departure – especially if you are traveling during the week-end – as there is only 1 departure per day and it might be full the day of departure). Price around 1,000 bahts, dinner included, super comfortable.

From Koh Samui or Koh Phangan:

We recommend you to book on the island your full transportation – using a ferry (cheaper, a bit longer but nice) or the speed boat.

You will be picked up from your hotel to the port, take your ferry then a bus to Suratthani and change to a shared minivan to Khao Sok.

Consider about 6 hours all together from Samui, 7 hours from Phangan.

Ferries are leaving every hour from the islands.

From Koh Tao:

We recommend you to book on the island your full transportation with Lomprayah – the only company joining Suratthani from Koh Tao (speed boat).

You can book it online as well on Lomprayah website.

You will be picked up from your hotel to the port, take your speedboat (stopping on Phangan and Samui) then a bus to Suratthani and change to a shared minivan to Khao Sok.

Consider about 7 hours all together.

2 boat per day (10 am and 4 pm from the island’s pier)

From Phuket or Khao Lak:

Just take a public bus of the line Phuket – Takuapa – Suratthani (beware from Phuket only the busses going thru Takuapa are heading to Khao Sok). There is one every hour (starting from Phuket from 6 am to 2 pm).

It takes about 4 hours from Phuket and 2 hours from Khao Lak.

From Phang Nga or Kuraburi:

No direct bus.

Take a bus to Takuapa and there you will find the bus to Khao Sok. Consider about 2 and an half hour.

From Koh PhiPhi or Koh Lanta(Koh Jum):

The easiest and fastest way is to come via Krabi (not Phuket).

We recommend you to book on the island your full transportation (cheaper and more relax).

You will be picked up from your hotel to the port, take your boat to Krabi port, be sent to the minivan station and take the next shared minivan to Khao Sok.

Consider about 5 hours all together from Koh Lanta, 6 hours from Koh Phiphi.

You will have to leave quite early morning to head into Khao Sok the same day.

From Krabi:

A few minibuses per day are leaving to Khao Sok. Just book it the previous day from a local agency.

Only one per day is going straight to Khao Sok within 2 hours (leaving before 12:00). The others are going thru Phang Nga and Khao Lak and take 4 hours to join Khao Sok.
